I visited Mumbai and experienced street foods like vada pao, bhel puri, pav bhaji, and sev puri first time in my life.

Chicken Frankie rolls and Kathi Rolls have spicy, tangy, and smokey aromatic flavor, filling our mouth with excellent taste, chicken juiciness, and veggies.

Kathi Rolls

Kathi Rolls is the most famous street food in Kolkata, West Bengal. Kathi Rolls are stuffed with Chicken Seekh Kebab or Kathi Kabab, mainly roasted by skewers. Now it is a trendy dish in the United States (US) and Canada. Citizens of the US and Canada mostly see the Kathi Rolls in the menu card of Indian restaurants.

Originally Kathi rolls are stuffed with beef. Now we have some varieties. In Kathi rolls, there are mainly two varieties of Chicken Roll and Egg Roll. Chicken Frankie is famous street food from Mumbai. This dish is easy to prepare enriches in a little bit of spicy and tangy flavor. Just imagine one bite of Chicken Frankie the juiciness and the tanginess with smoky flavor infusion, the heavenly and deadly combination you must have to try.




  • 300 gm boneless chicken
  • 1 tomato finely chopped
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tbsp turmeric powder
  • ½tbsp cumin powder
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • ½ tbsp Garam masala
  • 1 tbsp oil

  • 1 cup wheat flour/ refined flour (maida)
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ tbsp oil


  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves
  • 1 sliced onion
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 tbsp green chutney (Optional)
  • 23 tbsp tomato sauce (Optional)
  • Mayonnaise



1) Cut the boneless chicken into small cube sizes.

2) Place pan/skillet on flame, add oil in it.

3) Add onion and cook it until the color changes to brown.

4) After that, add ginger garlic paste to it and cook for 3-4 minutes.

5) Now add tomato and let it cook for 10-15 minutes until the smell of tomato goes out.

6) When the tomato mixes, then add all the mentioned spices in ingredients.

7) Add chicken cubes, salt as per the taste and pour some water in the pan. Cook it until the chicken is done.

8) Avoid sticking the chicken to the pan; cook by placing the lid above.

9) Turn off the flame when all water dried up.


1) Make a soft dough (mix flour& salt) by pouring some water and knead the dough well. Keep aside for 5 minutes. Now whisk the 2 eggs and keep aside.

2) Knockback the dough, sprinkle some water, then knead the dough once again.

3) Divide the dough in equal proportion for making the roti/chapatti of equivalent sizes.

4) Place Tawa on the flame put the roti/chapatti, and cook for a while. When bubbling starts, flip the roti/chapatti.

5) Apply the 1/4 whisked egg to the roti and flip it to another side.

6) Let the egg side roti cook, pour some oil to the Tawa side by side.

7) after 30-45 sec, remove the roti similarly make 3 more roti

8) Turn the flame off.

Now Assemble Filling and Roti

1) Add slices of onion, coriander leaves, chicken, lemon juice, and mix well.

2) Divide the equal proportion of the mixture as we have 4 Roti.

3) Place 1 Roti, add the mix, and spread it vertically.

4) Add Mayonnaise, green chutney, and tomato sauce and roll it tightly.

5) Serve hot.


You may cook roti and a mixture of chicken and veggies in advance.

Observe and be attentive while cooking Roti/ chapatti as it is very thin burns quickly.
